Executive Summary
What is ACM SIGGRAPH?
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is a US based international learned society for computing. ACM is organized into over 170 local chapters and 35 Special Interest Groups (SIGs), through which it conducts most of its activities, (ex. SIGGRAPH).
ACM SIGGRAPH is the New York–based Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH). SIGGRAPH holds yearly conferences in the United States/Canada and just recently Asia. With thousands in attendance each year, along with chapters all over the world, SIGGRAPH is considered to be the largest computer graphics organization on the planet.

ACM SIGGRAPH's mission is to foster and celebrate innovation in Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques. The organization promotes its vision by bringing people together in physical, on-line, and asynchronous communities to invent, inspire, and redefine the many creative and technical artifacts, disciplines, and industries that are touched by computer graphics and interactive techniques.

Organizational Summary
What are SIGGRAPH Professional Chapters about?
ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapters are non-profit year-round groups that bring new inspiration and innovation to the ACM SIGGRAPH organization. Professional Chapters share knowledge with other chapters (both student and professional), provide industry and mentor connections, and promote collaboration with the international ACM SIGGRAPH community.
SIGGRAPH Asia
There are currently 6 ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapters in the SIGGRAPH ASIA Region. Establishing SIGGRAPH Manila as lucky #7 will allow the Philippines to host a SIGGRAPH Asia Conference in the near future, and would be a huge milestone for the computer graphics community in the Philippines.
What Events will SIGGRAPH Manila be hosting?
SIGGRAPH Manila is currently working on the planning of several event venues to appeal to the computer graphics community. There will also be surveys handed out at the hosted events, in order to get feedback on what type of venues the community would like the SIGGRAPH Manila Chapter to host in the future.
SIGGRAPH Manila will be hosting the following type of events:

Workshops on various hardware components/peripherals.

De La Salle – College of St. Benilde / School of Design & Arts building in Malate, Manila.
Chartering of SIGGRAPH Manila (Brief)
SIGGRAPH Manila’s Current Organizational Status (Chartering Status)
At this moment, the Manila – ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter is undergoing the chartering process.
In order to be officially recognized as an official ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter the following must be completed:
Submit intent of Starting a Professional SIGGRAPH Chapter on ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter Chartering website.
Establishing the leaders of the SIGGRAPH Chapter. (Core Officers, Members-at-Large, Committee Officers)
Writing and submission of Bylaws to ACM SIGGRAPH Headquarters.
Reserving name, processing non-stock organization paperwork with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC).
o Get bank account in SIGGRAPH Manila name.
Establishment of Committees of the SIGGRAPH Chapter
Monthly Leadership Meeting (On Status of Chartering, needs of organization, planning of 1st major event)
o Brainstorming, have input on everyone’s ideas for success of the chapter.

Responsibilities of a Chapter (Via ACM SIGGRAPH Headquarters)
There are a number of responsibilities, expectations, and benefits associated with an ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter. Once your chapter has been chartered, you and your leadership will receive full access to the ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter Leaders web site. However, there are some basic responsibilities and expectations you should be aware of even before you get chartered:
A chapter must hold a minimum of four meetings per year to be considered active.
A chapter is required to set up AND maintain a chapter web site.
Each chapter is expected to stay in regular contact with the Chapters Committee Chair via e-mail or phone.
Each chapter must complete and return the ACM Annual Report.
Each chapter is required to establish and maintain a current chapter profile through the ACM Chapter Administrative Interface.
Each chapter is expected to add their leadership volunteers to the chapter-leaders mailing list.
Chapters must publicize ACM SIGGRAPH and ACM events.

Standing Committees
1. The standing committees of the Chapter shall be Programming and Special Events, Web Site, Membership, Public Relations, Education, Media, and Sponsorship, Social Media,.
a) The Programming and Special Events Committee is chaired by the Vice-Chair and is responsible for the planning, arranging and execution of the Chapter's activities.
b) The Web Site Committee is responsible for all aspects of the Chapter web site.
c) The Membership Committee is responsible for collecting dues, maintaining the member database and dealing with member inquiries throughout the year.
d) The Public Relations Committee is responsible for assisting each of the other committees with their publicity needs and maintains the Chapter mailing lists.
e) The Education Committee is responsible for all aspects of educational activities.
f) The Media Committee is responsible for all aspects of photography, videography, editing and editing of footage recorded at events, also responsible for all of the graphic design needs for the organization.
g) The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for the overall coordination of soliciting sponsorships for the Chapter and its activities.
h) Social Media Committee is responsible for advertisement of events, advertising of SIGGRAPH organization, etc.
i) Newsletter Committee (Temporary)
2. Committee Chairs will be approved by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
Board of Directors/Members-at-Large Duties
As stated in Article VI of the Manila – ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter bylaws:
Article VI: Board of Directors
1. The Board of Directors shall consist of the present officers of the Chapter, the immediate past Chair and ten Members-at-Large.
2. A Member-at-Large shall take office on <date> and serve for two years.
3. Half the Members-at-Large will be elected during even-years and the other half will be elected during odd years.
4. All members of the Board of Directors must be voting members of the Chapter.
5. Replacements for resigned Members-at-Large will be nominated by the Board of Directors. Replacements will be appointed by the Chair if a majority of the Board votes "Yes" on their appointment.
The responsibilities of the Board of Directors:
• Promoting technical excellence, through taking an active role in the technical community as individuals
• Providing high-quality technical resources and programs (conferences, newsletters, etc.) within the scope of SIGGRAPH's mission statement
• Promoting communication and interaction between SIGGRAPH and others in the technical community, both within ACM (chapters, other SIGs) and outside
• Providing benefits to SIGGRAPH members
• Overseeing conferences, symposia and workshops, both for technical quality and fiscal soundness
• Identifying additional benefits for members within the scope and financial resources of SIGGRAPH
• Promoting and publicizing SIGGRAPH achievements within the membership
